June 10, 2023
Hey Consilium Family! It’s Aimee checking in to chat about our first wedding of the 2023 season when we celebrated Panagiota and Jimmy in June. This incredible couple planned their wedding from Pittsburgh, all while Panagiota was finishing an intense nursing program and starting a new job- super impressive, right? Every part of their wedding day incorporated personal touches that melded Jimmy’s Pittsburgh roots and Panagiota’s Greek heritage. Pre-ceremony festivities were rich in culture- Panagiota wrote the names of all of her single bridesmaids on the sole of her shoe and the belief is that the last name rubbed off will be the next to get married. She and her family also made their way to the wedding by dancing down the street with accompaniment from a Greek band. Following a beautiful traditional Greek Orthodox ceremony, their family and friends arrived at The Knowlton, a super unique venue restored by Shiran Nicholson. Guests entered the boathouse to find a Pittsburgh cookie table. Friends and family from near and far brought cookies to create a 12 foot dessert display that was equally spectacular and delicious (my personal favorite was a burnt almond torte cookie made by Jimmy’s cousin). It was an amazing way to kick off our season with a couple we had the pleasure of working with for over a year. Congratulations to Panagiota and Jimmy!
