Gaby & Mike

When we first met Gaby and Mike and learned about their serendipitous love story, we knew this adventure was going to be a fun one. Years ago they unknowingly lived in the same building, one floor apart. A few years later, they met and discovered they had not only been neighbors, but also both had a dog named Tucker. We have to pause here to give a shout out to the Tuckers because they attentively attended over a year of planning meetings and aptly had black and white cookies in the hotel welcome gift bags and signature drinks named after them.

Ok, back to the wedding plans…we toured several venues looking for a space that offered an outdoor ceremony space, had some historical charm, and was located within a reasonable distance to Stamford, Connecticut where many of Gaby’s long-distance relatives would be staying for the wedding. The couple chose Tappan Hill Mansion, formerly one of Mark Twain’s family estates and the site where Mike’s parents were engaged. Their wedding day arrived with beautiful weather and a clear view of the Hudson. The first look took place in a lush flower garden with the bride wearing a lace, off the shoulder ball gown from A Little Something White and the groom wearing a custom olive green suit by Indochino. The ceremony took place on a large stone terrace with a backdrop of softly draped fabric and flowers complimenting the landscape. Guests were welcomed into a glass-enclosed stone promenade for cocktail hour which featured a unique seating chart that revealed a picture of the couple as guests took their seating assignments from it.

The glamorous reception space featured more exposed stone, stunning florals, and a fully draped and lit ceiling, creating a dramatic effect. Following the first dance, the bride honored Venezuelan tradition by doing a father-daughter salsa dance that also invited other important males in her family to join her on the dance floor. Following a formal dinner and cutting of the wedding cake and groom’s cake (Mike is a huge NY Giants fan), the lights were turned off and guests participated in Venezuelan Crazy Hour with glow sticks, hats, and props. Everyone was on the dance floor! Before leaving, guests enjoyed a sweet and savory popcorn bar. Gaby and Mike like to travel and also provided a unique favor of coasters with a custom map rendering with a heart over the venue. From beginning to end, every detail of this wedding was personalized for this happy couple and it made for a luxurious wedding experience. Congratulations to Gaby and Mike!
