Molly and Conor’s wedding had a quintessential New England feel and a thoughtful design that incorporated these elements throughout the whole day. This bride came to us with a clear vision, inspired by her collection of porcelain blue and white ginger jars (and a romantic love story about how she knew Conor would one day become her husband when they first met). They had selected The Point at Norwalk Cove because it offered a sailcloth tent on the water. During their planning process, the tent at the venue changed to a metal-frame white tent. We worked with the couple, and their dear friend and event planner, Jacin Fitzgerald, to adjust the design to keep the feel Molly was looking for in her day.
A rainy wedding morning made for beautiful getting ready photos on the water, wedding party photos in downtown Rowayton, and a ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception on the water at The Point. Molly’s dress was a stunning Anne Barge gown with a big bow and special surprise from her parents to honor her grandmother, sewn into the dress. As Molly’s dad walked her down the aisle, the sun came out, highlighting this sweet couple, giving a warm glow to wicker baskets overflowing with hydrangeas, and leaving a sparkle on the water. During his toast, Molly’s dad suggested it could have been a special sign from her grandmother at that moment.
Cocktail hour followed on the lawn until guests were welcomed into the tent featuring blue and white linens and table numbers, centerpieces with a pop of blue, lots of candles, and bistro lights strung across the tent. Following dinner and some beautiful speeches, Molly changed into a second dress as the party kicked off. This group knows how to have a great time and danced the rest of the night away. We loved working with this couple and were honored to be a part of their wedding. Congratulations to Molly and Conor!
